Name of Thrones: Coral countdown to Royal Baby special!

| 20.04.2015

Is it a boy? Is it a girl? News from the palace is that Royal Baby number two is on the way, and here at Coral we start our countdown, with our very own name of thrones to get you in the mood!

With the popular television series Game of Thrones well-established in the UK, we have decided to give you an alternative, yet fun angle for you to make your mind up, and have a little flutter at the same time. Alice is the favourite name with Coral giving this odds of 5/4.

The countdown to the Royal Baby 2 has officially started! Will it be a boy or a girl? More importantly what will it be called?

We’re inviting the British Public to place their bets on the name of the next Royal Baby by giving them inspiration with a Games of Thrones twist. We’ve created a fun video that features heirs in the line of succession to the House of Windsor.

Will Zenouska, the shadowy Estate Agent from Guildford, take the crown at 1000/1? Or will James, the Doctor, reign over at 20/1?

Coral’s Nicola McGeady said: “Punters have gone royal baby betting mad and we have already taken tens of thousands of bets across the nation.

“Turnover has soared and in particular more and more female punters are queuing up to make their predictions,” McGeady continued.

“If the money talks, then the royal baby will be a seven-pound Princess named Alice, born sometime in the morning.”

The second-favourite name is Charlotte, at 5/1, which suggests that Prince William and the Duchess Cambridge are considering something with a modern twist to it, while still staying relatively British.

First-born Prince George, who is now one years of age, sparked a massive gamble in the weeks running up to his birth, and this is set to continue this time around, however there is speculation that the Dutchess may not be in London for the time of the birth of her second-born.

The shortest odds for a boys name is 20/1 which is James, while Arthur and Henry are also the same price. Following the fact that the first five favourite names are girls, it is odds-on at 4/7 that the gender of the Queen’s second grandchild is going to be a female.

However, should you prefer an alternative option, have a look at the odds we offer in our ‘Name of Thrones’ video.
