Championship betting tips: Lions hope for home comforts
Preview and odds for Saturday’s games
There are 10 games in the EFL Championship on Saturday and we look at a selection of those matches in our Championship betting tips.
Millwall v Luton
After an awkward start to the season, two successive 1-0 wins – at home to Bristol City and away at Barnsley – ahead of the international break have Millwall in 11th place in the Championship and they are 7/5 to beat Luton.
Just as they were last season, Gary Rowett’s side have become the stalemate sultans, drawing six times already. They have only suffered two defeats in their 11 games and it is 11/5 they finish honours even with Luton this time.
Luton, on 14 points, are just a point and two places behind the Lions following their 0-0 draw at home to Huddersfield last time.
The Hatters, who have triumphed once away from home this season (D2 L2), have won one of their last 14 games with the Lions (D4 L9) and are 21/10 to prevail.
Seven of their last 10 meetings saw both sides score and it is 17/20 for that to happen this time.
The Lions are unbeaten in their last six meetings at home with Luton and in the last 11 meetings at home, there have not been too many goals – on just two occasions three goals or more were scored and it is 8/13 that under 2.5 goals will be struck this time.

Fulham v QPR
Fulham may be joint-title favourites at 9/4 with West Brom but Marco Silva’s side are five points behind leaders Bournemouth after one win in their last four Championship games.
They slumped to a 4-1 defeat at Coventry before the international break and also lost at home to Reading and dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Bristol City.
The Whites are 8/13 to beat QPR in a big London derby, however.
Rangers are just two points behind fifth-placed Fulham and only their hosts (23) have scored more goals than their 22 in the division. Rangers are 17/4 to hand Fulham a second home defeat of the season.
Fulham have a good record over the Hoops, who have won just two of the last 17 meetings (L12 D3). The draw is on offer at odds of 16/5 in the Championship betting tips.
Prior to their last meeting in the FA Cup in January, each of their last 10 encounters had produced three or more goals in total and it is 8/15 this will occur again in Sky TV’s Saturday lunchtime game.
Sheffield United v Stoke City
Fourth-placed Stoke face a tricky trip to Sheffield in search of their seventh win of the season.
The Potters defeated West Brom 1-0 in their last outing and confidence will be high they can land the odds of 5/2 at Bramall Lane.
United have struggled following their relegation from the Premier League, winning just three of their 11 games thus far, and are already 13 points off the pace.
The Blades, who have lost five times this term including a 2-1 reverse at Bournemouth last time, are 5/4 to win in the Championship betting tips.
Their last two meetings both ended in scoring draws and the stalemate is available at odds of 9/4.
Stoke have had the better of recent meetings, with the hosts winning just two of the last 11 (D6 L3).
