Andorra v England betting tips: Three Lions should roar against minnows
Preview and odds for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier
England are heavy favourites as their quest to qualify for next winter’s World Cup in Qatar continues in Andorra, so we look at the odds to find some Andorra v England betting tips.
Gareth Southgate’s men are top of Group I with 16 points from six games and will look to bolster their goal difference against the minnows.
Saturday’s match, which takes place at the Estadi Nacional, is live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 7.45pm.
Andorra v England match odds
After a run in which they conceded 14 goals in four home games – all defeats – Andorra are unbeaten in their last two home matches, a goalless draw against Gibraltar and 2-0 win over San Marino.
They have three points from six outings in the group and success would represent not finishing bottom.
England are four points above Albania in the group and have scored 18 goals in their six qualifying games, conceding just two.
One of those came in their last outing, a 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw in Poland, conceding in the 90th minute. It is 20/1 for England to draw with Andorra.
The Three Lions have not gone two consecutive major tournament qualifiers without winning since losing to Russia and Croatia in November 2007, and they are 1/80 to win on Saturday.
Andorra v England head-to-head
These two nations have met five times, with England winning each time and always to nil. It is 1/5 that Andorra are beaten to nil this time.
Those five games, all coming in qualifiers for either the European Championships or World Cup, saw England score 20 goals.
Their last meeting, at Wembley in September, saw England win 4-0 with an 18th-minute opener from Jesse Lingard giving Southgate’s men a 1-0 advantage at half-time. A Harry Kane penalty and further goals from Lingard and Bukayo Saka sealed the game.
Andorra v England team news
Southgate has added Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell and Roma striker Tammy Abraham to his England squad.
Chilwell will help bolster England’s defensive options with Harry Maguire and Trent-Alexander Arnold ruled out through injury.
Southgate has also recalled AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Andorra v England key battles
Kane is having a battle with himself. No goals in six Premier League outings for Tottenham, the England captain is desperate to get back to his best form and has netted 36 of his 41 England goals in competitive internationals.
Andorra will be less than adventurous. They had one shot at Wembley and it will be a case of keeping the score respectable. England had a job breaking them down at Wembley, but it is 4/7 that they have the lead after 30 minutes.
