Man City v Burnley betting tips: Five-star City relish Clarets visit

Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash

Third-placed Manchester City host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, so we have looked at the odds to find some Man City v Burnley betting tips.

City earned a valuable point at Liverpool last time out, while Burnley were held at home by Norwich.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at the Etihad Stadium, kicks off at 3pm.

Man City v Burnley match odds

Manchester City are two points adrift of early leaders Chelsea and having beaten the Blues at Stamford Bridge and held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at Anfield in recent weeks, they are 10/11 favourites to retain their title in the Premier League winner odds.

City twice came from behind to snatch a point at Anfield with second-half goals from Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne – and they were unlucky not to have taken all three points.

Foden was denied what looked a clear penalty when felled in the first half and Liverpool’s James Milner was extremely lucky to have remained on the pitch when chopping down Bernardo Silva when in full flight, having already been cautioned.

City are 1/8 to beat Burnley and they will also hope to extend a run of clean sheets. Pep Guardiola’s side have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four at the Etihad, winning three of those games 5-0.

However, they did fail to score in their last home league match, last failing to find the net in consecutive Premier League home games in November 2010 (three in a row). They are 7/10 to win to nil and 8/13 to keep a clean sheet.

Burnley drew 0-0 at home to bottom club Norwich last time out and the Clarets are winless in their last 10 league games (D3 L7), the longest current run without a win in the top four tiers of English football.

However, each of their last four Premier League victories have come away from home.

Sean Dyche’s side, who are third from bottom with three points from seven games, are 20/1 to win at the Etihad while the draw is on offer at 15/2 in the Man City v Burnley betting tips.

Man City v Burnley head-to-head

Man City have taken 28 points from their last 30 available against Burnley in the Premier League since losing 1-0 at Turf Moor in March 2015.

They have also beaten the Clarets 5-0 in each of the last four meetings at the Etihad and it is 12/1 that they win 5-0 again, which looks a tempting option for Man City v Burnley betting tips.

No team in English football has ever won five-plus home games in a row against an opponent by five-plus goals before. It is 15/2 that they win 4-0 this time.

In fact, Burnley have lost each of their last eight meetings with Man City in all competitions by an aggregate score of 30-1. It is 16/1 that Burnley keep a clean sheet in the Man City v Burnley betting tips.

City have scored in each half in six of the last eight meetings, and it is 4/9 that a goal will be scored in both halves this time.

Man City v Burnley key battles

Scoring against City has been a problem for most teams. No team has conceded fewer goals in the Premier League this season than Man City, with all three of their goals conceded coming in the second half of games.

Burnley are 5/4 to score a goal and it is 7/1 that they score twice.

Both sides have scored in 10 of the last 19 meetings in all competitions, however, and it is 13/10 that this will happen on Saturday.
