Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash

Everton have made a great start to their Premier League campaign and are on their travels this weekend so we look at the odds for some Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

Villa have won one of their opening four games and will be keen to end Everton’s unbeaten start following the Toffees’ 3-1 win over Burnley on Monday.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at Villa Park, kicks off at 5.30pm BST and is live on BT Sport.

Aston Villa v Everton match odds

Villa are unbeaten in their last four Premier League home games (W2 D2) – their best run for six years.

Having sold Jack Grealish for £100million to Manchester City in the summer, Villa have recruited well in a bid to replace the England star, particularly striker Danny Ings, who has proved his worth with two goals in his first two games before drawing a blank against Brentford and Chelsea.

Villa played well for long periods against Chelsea last week, with two late goals giving the European champions a somewhat flattering 3-0 scoreline.

It leaves Villa in 12th place with four points, having beaten Newcastle and drawn with Brentford in their two games at Villa Park.

Villa are 29/20 to win and if they are to do so, Ings could play a crucial role.

He has scored five Premier League goals against Everton – against no side has he scored more in the competition.

The Toffees are the only club against which Ings (pictured below) has scored for all three of his previous top-flight clubs (Burnley, Liverpool and Southampton).

He is 7/5 to score at any time and 7/2 to grab the first goal in the Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

Any doubts about hiring former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez appear to have been put to the back of the Everton fans’ minds after the Toffees took 10 points for their opening four games.

Their only blot was a 2-2 draw at Leeds and they are 2/1 to win at Villa Park.

Everton were unbeaten in their first five league games last term but have never done so in consecutive campaigns in their history.

The draw, which has occurred in nine of the previous 19 meetings, is available at 23/10. Only one of those have been goalless and it is 16/5 the game ends in a score draw.

Aston Villa v Everton head-to-head

Villa are unbeaten in four league games against Everton, winning two and drawing two.

They had only won two of their previous 15 Premier League meetings with the Toffees (D7 L6).

The pair drew 0-0 at Villa Park in this fixture last season while Villa won 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Villa fans will not be too keen to see Benitez as he has lost just one of his 17 games against them in all competitions (W10 D6) while the Spaniard has never lost at Villa Park (W4 D5).

It is 4/7 Everton win or draw in the Double Chance market in the Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

In 13 of the last 19 meetings, both sides found the net and it is 8/11 this is the case again on Saturday.

Twelve of the last 13 clashes yielded three goals or more and the odds for that to happen this time are 23/10.

Aston Villa v Everton head-to-head

Villa have recorded just two clean sheets in their last 16 Premier League games – one of them against Everton in May.

They have let in 26 goals in that run and it is 21/10 Villa don’t concede in the Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

In contrast, Everton have lost just two of their last 17 Premier League away games (W10 D5), with those defeats coming at Chelsea and Manchester City last season.

The Toffees have recorded seven clean sheets in their last 10 away league games, as many as in their previous 33 on the road. They are 21/5 to win to nil and 9/2 to win but concede.
