Brighton v Leicester betting tips: Foxes seek away-day fillip
Preview and odds for Sunday’s Premier League clash
Brighton hope to continue a good start to the Premier League season when they host the Foxes on Sunday, and we look at the odds for some Brighton v Leicester betting tips.
The Seagulls have won three of their opening four matches while Leicester have won two and drawn two of their four Premier League games thus far.
Sunday’s match, which takes place at the Amex Stadium, kicks off at 2pm.
Brighton v Leicester match odds
The Seagulls, who finished 16th last season, have made an impressive start to the campaign and start the weekend sixth in the table.
Graham Potter’s side were riveting to watch at times last season, with a style that was easy on the eye and plenty of chances were created, but goals were a problem.
This season they have converted enough of those chances and have won tricky away games at Burnley and Brentford, with their only defeat coming at home to Everton.
With nine points from four games, this is Brighton’s best start to a league campaign since 2015-16 (10), and their best-ever return at this stage of a top-flight season.
They are 17/10 to beat a Leicester side who continue to establish themselves among the elite, with two consecutive fifth-placed finishes in the Premier League and a first FA Cup triumph, following their first Premier League title in 2016.
The Foxes have beaten Wolves and Norwich by the odd goal, but lost 4-1 at West Ham and were downed 1-0 at home by Manchester City last week.
Brighton v Leicester head-to-head
Leicester are unbeaten in all eight of their Premier League meetings with Brighton (W6 D2), the most they have faced a side without suffering defeat in the competition.
Brighton have lost their last two home league games against Leicester, as many as they had in their previous eight against them. They have never lost three in a row at home against the Foxes and are 4/9 to either win or draw the game on the Double Chance market.
One or other side has failed to score in six of their last nine clashes and it is 20/23 that one or other fails to score this time.
Brighton v Leicester key battles
Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine consecutive league games on their travels. However, they have managed to score in all nine, so the odds for Brighton to win but concede are 9/2.
Their habit of conceding is possibly why they are not having too many chances at the other end. Leicester have had fewer shots than any other Premier League team this season (29).
It is also worth noting that Brighton have kept 11 clean sheets in 2021, with only Manchester City and Chelsea recording more shutouts. Brighton are 2/1 to keep a clean sheet this time.
Jamie Vardy will relish facing Albion, however. He has netted five times in eight games against them and is 15/8 to score at any time.
