Preview and odds for Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash

Champions League runners-up Manchester City continue their European campaign against Paris Saint-Germain, and we have examined the odds to bring you some PSG v Man City betting tips.

Manchester City were favourites to win last season’s final in Porto but lost 1-0 to Chelsea, while PSG will seek to avenge their two-leg semi-final defeat by City.

Tuesday’s Group A game takes place at the Parc des Princes and is live on BT Sport 2, with an 8pm kick-off.

PSG v Man City match odds

Paris Saint-Germain were held by Club Brugge in their opening Group A game and are now winless in their last four Champions League games (D1 L3).

The last time they failed to win their opening two games of a campaign in this competition was back in 2004-05, losing 3-0 to Chelsea and 2-0 against CSKA Moscow.

They are also winless in their last three Champions League games at home, including losing to Man City in the semi-final last season. All three of those have come in the knockout stages of the competition and they have lost just one of their previous 27 home games in the group phase.

They come into this clash following a 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Monaco on Saturday thanks to goals from Idriss Gueye and Julian Draxler (pictured below). They top the domestic table with eight wins from eight games.

PSG are 2/1 to win the clash, although there are doubts about the fitness of star man Lionel Messi, who missed Saturday’s clash with a bone bruise on his left knee.

Messi has scored six goals in four  Champions League games against teams managed by Pep Guardiola (four against Manchester City and two against Bayern Munich) – the most of any player in the competition against the current City boss. He is 6/4 to score at any time.

Man City defeated European champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday, exacting a measure of revenge for their defeat in last season’s final.

Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last 10 away games in the Champions League (W8 D2), while they haven’t lost an away game in the competition outside of England since December 2017 (2-1 v Shakhtar Donetsk).

City are 13/10 to win and it is 13/5 that the game ends in a draw in the PSG v Man City betting tips.

PSG v Man City head-to-head

PSG and Man City will clash for the sixth time with the French side still looking for their first win in head-to-head meetings (D2 L3). Only against Juventus (eight) have Paris Saint-Germain played more games in European competition without winning. City are 2/5 to win or draw the game on the Double Chance market in the PSG v Man City betting tips.

Paris Saint-Germain have failed to keep a clean sheet in all four of their meetings with Manchester City in the Champions League; only against AC Milan have they played as many games without managing a clean sheet in the European Cup/Champions League (also four).

It is 15/4 that PSG keep a clean sheet this time, while the odds for Man City to win but concede are 27/10.

City won 2-1 when they last met at the Parc des Princes and it is 8/1 that this will again be the final score.

PSG v Man City key battles

Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are names that strike fear into any defence, and that is the big task facing Guardiola’s men.

Mbappe is 13/8 to score at any time in the PSG v Man City betting tips, while Neymar, who has scored 14 goals in 13 home games for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, is 9/5 to score at any stage.

The Brazilian has averaged either a goal or assist every 65 minutes for PSG at the Parc des Princes in the competition.
