Preview and odds for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifiers

The last round of matches during the international break take place on Tuesday night and we have examined the odds to find some World Cup qualifying betting tips.

We have separate previews for the matches involving England, Scotland and Northern Ireland but here we analyse three of the other games.

Albania v Poland

Both sides are chasing England in Group I, with Albania four points behind the Three Lions with three games to play.

Edoardo Reja’s side kept their hopes of reaching the World Cup finals alive by beating Hungary 1-0 last week, while Poland did what was expected in crushing San Marino. The Poles are still a point behind Albania but have an easier run-in, with Albania yet to face England away.

Albania’s 1-0 win in Budapest means they are on a run of three successive qualifying victories and they are 11/4 to win in Tirana on Tuesday. They have also kept a clean sheet in all their five group victories and it is 23/10 that they keep Poland scoreless.

Poland cruised to a 5-0 win over San Marino, the world’s lowest-ranked nation, and they have now scored 24 goals in seven games – one more than England.

The Poles are 23/20 to win the clash, and they have won the last six meetings. The last and only time they have suffered defeat to Albania was in 1953. Since then, they have drawn two and won seven of their nine meetings. The draw is available for World Cup qualifying betting tips at odds of 21/10.

Albania lost 4-1 in the reverse fixture last month, so they are 7/10 to win or draw the game on the Double Chance market.

Sweden v Greece

With Spain in Nations League final action last Sunday, Sweden now have a chance to leapfrog them and go top of Group B when they host Greece.

Janne Andersson’s side are a point behind Spain and three points above Greece, who had the better of them last time. Their 2-1 win in the reverse fixture means this is a key battle for both sides.

Emil Forsberg, Sweden, World Cup Qualifying betting tips

Sweden, 20/23 to win, have won only one of their previous seven games against Greece in all competitions and, after a 2-0 win over Georgia, John van ’t Schip’s side will fancy their chances of bridging the gap.

Greece can be backed at 18/5 to win in World Cup qualifying betting tips but three of their previous seven meetings ended in stalemate and it is 23/10 that this game will end in a draw.

Five of their last seven meetings saw both sides find the net and the odds for both to score on Tuesday are 21/20.

Ukraine v Bosnia and Herzegovina

Ukraine and Bosnia & Herzegovina both kept up their momentum with World Cup qualifying wins on Saturday.

Ukraine went to Finland and won 2-1, while Bosnia dispatched Kazakhstan 2-0 on the road. Each side were winning in Group D for the first time, Ukraine having drawn all five of their previous games, while Bosnia had drawn three and lost one of their four previous games.

Both sides are chasing France, who are unbeaten in the group and Bosnia can go above Ukraine with a win. The visitors are 19/5 to win while Ukraine, who are unbeaten in the group, are 4/5 to win. The draw is on offer at odds of 5/2.

This will be their first of two meetings, with the next being on November 16 in Zenica.
